PRESENT e-Learning Systems is a medical education and communications company that provides courses and resources for healthcare professionals, with a focus on podiatry. The company was founded in 2003 by podiatrists Alan Sherman, DPM and Michael Shore, DPM.
In the early 2000s, Drs. Sherman and Shore recognized the need for continuing education in podiatry and the challenges that healthcare professionals faced in finding relevant and accessible courses. They saw an opportunity to leverage technology to provide high-quality, online courses that could be taken from anywhere at any time. They began developing the platform in 2003 and that year, released a curriculum of online lectures for podiatric residents which were quickly adopted by most podiatric residency programs across the country. That was the start of PRESENT Podiatry. In 2005, they released an accredited version for practicing podiatrists to earn continuing medical education credits required for relicensure and became the largest provider of online CME education to podiatrists.
Initially, the PRESENT Podiatry platform offered a few courses in podiatry, but it quickly expanded to cover a wide range of topics and specialties within healthcare. Today, PRESENT e-Learning Systems offers over 500 courses, covering topics such as wound care, sports medicine, diabetes, and surgery, among others. The courses are developed by leading experts in their respective fields and are accredited for continuing education credits by PRESENT e-Learning Systems, one of the approved providers of such education in podiatry.
Co-founder Dr. Alan Sherman played a significant role in the development of the platform. Dr. Sherman is a podiatrist with over 40 years of experience and is widely recognized as an expert in the field. He has authored numerous articles on podiatry and practice management topics. Dr. Sherman brings his clinical expertise and knowledge to the platform, helping to ensure that the courses are relevant and valuable to healthcare professionals.
Co-founder Dr. Michael Shore also played a critical role in the platform's development. Dr. Shore is a podiatrist and has over 35 years of experience in the field. He brings his expertise in technology and education to the platform, helping to ensure that the courses are well-designed and easy to use. He also designs and implements partnerships with educators and industry.
In 2007, Sherman and Shore partnered with the Superbones conference and began providing marketing and logistics services to that organization. They acquired the company in 2008, expanded to provide a Superbones West conference in Las Vegas the next year and to develop a focus on wound care which was a growing area of practice for podiatrists at the time. They changed the name to Superbones Superwounds to reflect that new focus. Now a full services conference provider in addition to an online education provider, PRESENT went on to acquire the Desert Foot Wound Care Conference from the Veterans Administration, and to build a new conference franchise to address the education needs of the podiatric residency community, the Podiatric Residency Education Summits.
Together, Drs. Sherman and Shore have built PRESENT e-Learning Systems into a leading education services platform for healthcare professionals. The platform has received numerous accolades and awards for its innovative approach to continuing education and its commitment to quality and excellence. Today, PRESENT e-Learning Systems continues to expand and improve, offering healthcare professionals a valuable resource for staying up-to-date on the latest developments in their fields.
